Unfortunately, due to unnecessary intimidation from regulators, many providers are too traumatised to appreciate the benefits that an independent audit can bring to an organisation’s health and growth.
Remember that an independent auditor is being engaged by you to tell you what's wrong so you can fix it before the regulator comes back. To avoid the regulator identifying any non-compliance, you want an expert who is on your side and can really focus on making sure you won't come undone during a regulatory audit. An audit should always be about continuous improvement and giving providers an opportunity to demonstrate what they do best. There will be times when an organisation gets it wrong or may be able to do something better, and that’s ok, provided the focus is always on ensuring best practice, quality training that meets registration requirements and client satisfaction.
A good auditor will always be able to find examples of good practice and should take every opportunity to point this out to the RTO, albeit, regulators often won't.
